Welcome to our licensed, family-friendly bistro in Cambridge, Waikato, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with warm hospitality and seasonal care. At St Kilda Café & Bistro, we pair locally minded ingredients with consistent service, comfortable indoor seating overlooking the playground, and a dog-friendly outdoor area.

We keep things simple: walk-ins welcome, easy bookings, and helpful managers to assist. Prams accommodated with notice; wheelchair access throughout. Sunday Roast and Curry Night keep evenings interesting. Please advise allergies. Guests must tell the server; shared equipment; no guarantee of zero traces. Open Tuesday–Sunday. Vik couldn't of been more accommodating, tables look amazing, food and service was great. Just love the relaxed and inviting atmosphere at the St Kilda Cafe & Bistro. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children, and everything we ordered was delicious — salmon, fettuccine, pizza, chicken, chips, ice cream sundaes, beers and cocktails. The portions were generous, the drinks were great, and the service was lovely.

It’s such a beautiful venue with a lovely open feel and big windows overlooking the playground, which is fantastic when dining with children. We’re from out of town, but we’ll definitely be back when we’re next in Cambridge.

Highly recommend!

I’d definitely suggest reserving a table, especially if you’re planning to visit at a busy time.

What are your current opening hours?

We trade Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and we are closed on Mondays. Sunday opens at 9:00 am as usual. Our website is the single source of truth for hours, menus, and any updates. On public holidays we apply a 1.5% surcharge and keep our usual hours unless stated otherwise.

Do we need to book ahead?

Walk-ins are welcome, but bookings help us plan your table and service. We recommend reserving for evenings, weekends, Curry Night, Sunday Roast, and groups. We hold bookings for 15 minutes past the scheduled time before releasing the table. You can confirm a booking by phone or email.

Do you accept casual walk-ins daily?

Yes. We accept walk-ins throughout the day. There is usually no wait, though we may need a few minutes to set a table. Large groups are welcome; for parties of 30 or more we appreciate a short setup window so we can arrange the space.
